The very first of twenty-two Poole Playbuilder sites! Installers made an early start at Sherborn Crescent when a job elsewhere in the country was postponed. The play area was closed on 28th October 2009 and re-opened on a sunny Saturday, 7th November 2009.
The original play equipment has been repainted, and three new items installed - a wheelchair friendly roundabout, a cable way (zip wire) and jungle climber ( a wooden climbing structure in a bark mulch safer surface) providing a range of play for children between the ages of 3 to14.
New seating and a litter bin were installed in March and again in April, but were vandalised on both occasions and have subsequently been removed.
The play equipment in this play area was manufactured and installed to comply with current safety standards applying at the time of installation and all items of equipment are provided with a safer surface where required.
The play equipment and the immediate surrounding areas are inspected on a regular basis. An annual inspection is also carried out by an independent qualified organisation that prepares a safety audit and a report to enable the Council to plan long term maintenance and renewal
The play area is accessable from Adastral Road, Chetnole Close and Verity Crescent via the good local footpath network, parking is available on a number of local roads.
We encourage the use of all our facilities by everyone. Please let us know if you have any suggestions on how we could improve this facility for you.
