Baiter Rec

This is a great spot to be exposed to the elements of the harbour entrance which can blow away those cob webs. There is a skate park here and is a popular spot for kiting and cycling.

News Item:

Event sites at Baiter Park

As one of Poole’s primary event locations, it is important that Baiter Park has suitable facilities and utility supplies.  Until recently, there was only one point for electricity and water (not suitable for dinking), near to the slipway by Harbourside 1 Car Park.

To allow for greater flexibility in locating events, a second electricity point has been installed near Harbourside 2 Car Park, although we are currently reviewing it’s precise location.  Minor changes will also be made shortly to the toilet block to provide an external drinking water supply.

These changes will enable future events to be held at either Event Site 1 or Event Site 2, please see attached plan on right hand side of page.  The position of future events will be discussed with the organisers and take into account the condition of the site and the impact on the local community.   Feedback from some event organisers is that Event Site 1 is essential to the viability of their event, because it increases visibility and enables them to attract visitors directly from Poole Quay.

We will continue to work with and listen to the views of the local community and be mindful of the impact on residents when considering locations for future events.
