If you' have contacted us and are not satisfied with the explanation, you can ask us to look at the decision again. You must let us know in writing within one calendar month of the date of the decision letter by either downloading and printing an explanation / reconsideration form, or:
- Print and complete the Explanation and Reconsideration form on this page.
- Ring us on 01202 633114 for a form
- Collect the form from the Civic Centre
- Write to us explaining why you feel the decision is incorrect

If you think the decision we have made about your Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit is wrong and you want an Independent Tribunal to look at it again, please write to us or complete an appeal form within one month of the date of the letter (or one calendar month from the date of the letter telling you that the decision cannot be changed, if you have already completed a reconsideration request). Alternatively, you could:

- Pick one up from the Civic Centre
- Write to us, giving full reasons for your appeal
Late appeals can only be accepted in special circumstances and cannot be accepted 12 months or more after the date of our decision letter.

Your case will be referred to an Appeal Tribunal who will contact both you and ourselves to provide a date for a hearing. You can choose between either an oral hearing or a paper hearing.
