Juliet Artel, a resident from Poole who took part in one of the courses said: "When I started the course I was a complete novice and felt quite embarrassed by my lack of skill, but I persevered and I am thrilled that I can now cycle and have my own bike."

Sally Funnell, Cycling/Walking Officer, Borough of Poole, said: "The treasure hunt on Sunday and cycling courses are a great way for people to get out and about, have fun and discover some of the wonderful cycle routes that Poole has to offer. Many people find that returning to cycling offers them a number of great benefits, which include better fitness and more transport flexibility. This is particularly beneficial in view of the rising costs in petrol and in reducing our carbon footprint."
