Housing Renewal Policy - Private Sector
Purpose
This policy was adopted by the Council in June 2003 and adapted in May 2006, and lays out in full the financial assistance and advice that can be given to vulnerable client groups to help them make informed choices in carrying out repairs, improvements and adaptations to their own home.
The policy also illustrates in full what housing standards are expected in the private rented sector and what initiatives are in place to achieve the Decent Homes Standard. It also details actions to bring empty properties back into use, which assists the Council in delivering its main housing strategy.
