Supplementary Planning Guidance - Planning Obligations: Recreation Facilities.
Purpose
Most forms of residential development will produce a net increase in demand for recreation facilities. Policy L17 of the Poole Local Plan First Alteration (Adopted March 2004), requires that residential development should make appropriate provision for recreation facilities. This supplementary planning guidance provides guidance on how net increase in demand is assessed and financially apportioned off for new development. It includes other details on the necessary Section 106 legal agreements and the administration of policy L17.
Consultation
This guidance updates a previous version that was adopted in December 1998. It was subject to extensive consultation in Feb/March 2000. 202 letters were sent to interested parties including other Dorset local authorities, all known residents' associations in Poole, local developers and agents, land owners, housing associations, and housebuilders known to have an interest. A public notice was also issued. Further details of the consultation process are given in Appendix D.
