Supplementary Planning Guidance - Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS)
Purpose
This guidance supports changes to the Building Regulations and new advice in Planning Policy Guidance Note 25 (Development and Flood Risk). It sets out the Borough of Poole's stance on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) which is to encourage the use of SuDS where ground conditions are appropriate and require that early consideration is given to the use of SuDS in the development process. This guidance is primarily aimed at developers of new housing developments and commercial schemes.
Consultation
Issued for consultation between 12th March 2002 to 26th April 2002. Responses and representations are available in a separate document called 'Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems - Summary of Public Consultation Responses and Changes to Draft Guidance (May 2002). In addition to the release of public notices, local water companies, the Environment Agency and local Agents and Architects were specifically targeted for consultation on this document.
