Supplementary Planning Guidance - 'A Design Code'
Purpose
The SPG is intended to support policies BE1 (Design Code) and H11 (Security Through Design) of the Poole Local Plan First Alteration (Adopted March 2004) as well as all other policies in the Plan that seek to influence the design of new development. It sets design principles for new development and covers issues relating to layout, orientation and form.
Consultation
The code was initially published and issued for public consultations in parallel with the consultations relating to the Adopted Poole Local Plan (August 1998). It was later altered to include illustrations and to add sections 2.9 and 2.10 with consultation of selected groups on these changes. Further consultation on the current document was carried out parallel to the deposit of the Poole Local Plan First Alteration in July 2000.
