Strategic Flood Risk Assessment for Poole
Strategic Flood Risk Assessment - Level 1

The Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Level 1 is the first of two assessments on the extent and nature of flood risk in Poole. It has been carried out by the Borough of Poole in collaboration with the Environment Agency and follows the guidance of PPS25 "Development and Flood Risk".
It assesses the different levels, extent and nature of flooding and flood risk in Poole to assist with statutory land use planning. It identifies areas at flood risk of flooding and outlines methods to minimise and manage that risk.
Strategic Flood Risk Assessment - Level 2
Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Level 2 follows on from this, as a specific need to carry out the Sequential Test on Poole's allocated Regeneration Area is identified. Where limited opportunity exists to build on lower flood risk areas (as in central Poole) the Exceptions Test is also carried out. HR Wallingford Ltd (Consultant Engineers) have carried out overtopping and breach analysis, including climate change scenarios, to inform Poole's Level 2 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment.
