Poole residents can find out more about renewable energy at a special exhibition on Monday 21 November.
The exhibition, at Borough of Poole's Civic Centre between 4.30pm and 8pm, will give people a chance to learn about different renewable energy sources from wind power and solar energy to biomass technology.
A series of short presentations will explain the different technologies. Local businesses and organisations, each representing a form of renewable energy, will be available to talk about the benefits, relevance and the costs of their technology, as well as the potential challenges involved in bringing it to Poole.
People visiting the free 'drop-in' event will also be able to vote for their preferred form of renewable energy, based on which one they think would be most suitable for Poole.
Councillor Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Borough of Poole, said: "I’m really excited about this event as we are keen to get the views and listen to the expectations of local people right from the beginning as we explore the options for our long-term renewable energy strategy."
The Renewable Energy Exhibition will be held in the Cattistock Room at the Civic Centre, BH15 2RU on Monday 21 November 2011 from 4.30 to 8pm, with the presentations starting at 5pm.
