staffed by carer specialists and benefit advisors. - Tuesday 12 June - Carers trip to Abbotsbury Gardens
. - Wednesday 13 June - Discussion event and lunch at Durley Hall Hotel
, Bournemouth - Carers and the people that they care for will have an opportunity to contribute ideas on how future support services for carers are shaped. (A repeat event will take place between 7pm -9pm) . - Thursday 14 June - Free one day passes to Esporta Health Club
for carers, including health checks, information and advice followed by drinks in the evening at the Sandbanks Hotel. - Friday 15 June - Carers trip to Spinnaker Tower
, Portsmouth.
Val Mitchell, Carers Services Manager, Borough of Poole, said: "It is hard for people to imagine the commitment that carers make on a day to day basis. Many carers look after a friend or loved one 24/7, others try to balance caring with employment or bringing up a family. Borough of Poole supports National Carers week with a range of events to acknowledge the tremendous part these people play in contributing to society. The week offers them a well deserved break from their caring roles."
A low cost sitting service is available, in partnership we local charity Help and Care, for those carers unable to leave the person they care for. To access the sitting service call 0845 4500 418.
