Poole Bridge Closure

An overnight lane closure will be in place on Poole Bridge on Wednesday, December 3 to allow essential maintenance work.

The single lane restriction will operate from 7pm until 7am the following day for inspection work on the bridge. Outside of these hours there will be no restrictions.

Scheduled lifts of Poole Bridge will take place as normal during the temporary lane closure.

The inspection work is necessary to assess the concrete deck approach spans to the bridge. Most of the work is being carried out from boats beneath the bridge to reduce disruption to traffic.

John Rice, Engineering Manager for Transportation Services, Borough of Poole, said: "The work being undertaken is essential and we hope to keep any disruption to a minimum by carrying out the inspections overnight. We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause."
