Poole Museum is helping children to beat the boredom blues with a variety of fun activities throughout August.
Children aged between five and 14 years old are invited to step back in time and join in with a range of activities from medieval times to World War Two.
Free activities and demonstrations such as making Tudor pomanders, preparing Victorian tea parties and wartime cooking will take place at Scaplen's Court every Monday and Tuesday between 11am and 3pm. Scaplen's Court will be open everyday to the public throughout August between 10am and 4.30pm and admission is free.
Families can experience life as a scout every Wednesday and take part in jamboree singsongs, knot tying and making camp food. These activities compliment the Museum's Scouting exhibition currently taking place, 'Scouting for Boys…and Girls'.
Children are encouraged to get creative every Friday at Poole Museum. Craft activities include making medieval gargoyles, pirate faces, Iron Age warrior shields and Celtic jewellery.
Cllr Peter Adams, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Borough of Poole, said: "Poole Museum is an excellent day out for local people and visitors. Entry is free and it is located at the heart of the vibrant quay area. There are fascinating exhibitions and with activities like these held during the holidays, it is an ideal opportunity for families to enjoy time together and learn about history in a fun and creative way."
