Aspiring local artists will be able to exhibit their work and get feedback from critics and arts professionals at a special event being held at Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts.
Portfolio Day is a fantastic opportunity for visual artists in Poole and Bournemouth to display their work and learn more about working professionally in the arts.
The event, on Tuesday July 8, will host of a series of discussions where artists can gain feedback on their work from specially invited guests from the arts sector.
Established as part of the Joint Arts Plan between Poole and Bournemouth arts development units, the day is aimed at painters, sculptors, printmakers, and any other visual artists who want to find out more about opportunities in the area and meet other artists.
Local artists will be able to exhibit a piece of artwork in the Portfolio Day exhibition and get the chance to meet arts professionals, guest critics and local arts officers.
They will also have an opportunity to find out more about the latest arts opportunities in Poole and Bournemouth.
Marianne Scahill, Arts in the Community Officer, Borough of Poole, said: "This is a great opportunity for artists to get valuable feedback on their portfolio and expert advice about how they can develop professionally. There is also a chance to learn how to apply for public art commissions and find out what architects, councils and public art officers are looking for from artists."
Portfolio Day takes place at Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts, on Tuesday July 8, from 10am to 5pm. Tickets cost £30 and include lunch, seminars and photographs of exhibited work.
