Nine professional artists and four arts venues in Poole will be opening their doors to the public in May and June to celebrate Dorset Art Weeks
which runs between 24 May and 8 June 2008.
Starting on 17 May from 10am until 4pm and running for the consecutive four Saturdays until 7 June people can visit the Spring into Creative Industries arts market at the Lighthouse, then follow the artists trail through Poole Park, to the Study Gallery
for the Dorset Art Weeks
selected exhibition.
All of the Poole artists taking part exhibit nationally and internationally, and this is a unique opportunity for people to find out all about their work and what inspires them about the local area. Visitors will also be able to purchase original high quality artwork direct from the artists.
The exhibition is a partnership between Borough of Poole, The Arts Poole, The Study Gallery
and Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts
Marianne Scahill, Arts in the Community Officer at Borough of Poole said: “Often people would like to buy an original painting but don’t know where to start. This exhibition is an amazing opportunity for people to find out more about the professional artists that live and work in Poole, and to snap up high quality paintings, prints and jewellery directly from the people that have made it.”
