Free Films At The Lighthouse

A free visual treat is currently on offer at the Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts where a collection of short films and animations by recent graduates from the Media School at Bournemouth University is being screened.

In a partnership between the Borough of Poole’s Arts Development Unit and Bournemouth University, ‘Small Shorts, Big Thoughts’ is running every day between 10am and 11pm until 31st May. People are invited to view the entertaining and visually stunning videos and animations on four screens situated around the building.

‘Small Shorts, Big Thoughts’ is part of a year long programme of arts, dance, theatre, poetry, and live music organised by the Arts Development Unit called Arts in Different Parts that will take over the Lighthouse’s open spaces, including the café, bar and foyer areas.

Nickola Moore, Arts Development Manager at the Borough of Poole said: “The Arts in Different Parts Programme is a great opportunity for local people and visitors to rediscover the Lighthouse, and to experience some of the excellent creative activities on their doorstep. We hope that by allowing free entry to Small Shorts, Big Thoughts more people will be encouraged to see this amazing work and renew their interest in the arts centre. We look forward to welcoming people there.”

A full programme is available from the Arts Development Unit.
