Plans For Mannings Heath On Display

Borough of Poole is inviting residents to view a proposal for a travellers’ site at Mannings Heath.

Housing and Community Services will be holding a drop-in session for members of the local community on Wednesday, December 12, between 2pm and 8pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Herbert Avenue, in Rossmore.

A bid has been submitted to the Department of Communities and Local Government for £1.8 million to provide a 15 pitch development managed by the council with an on-site warden.

The aim is to develop a secure family-orientated site with a resource centre providing access to health and education services and to promote positive relationships between travellers and the local community.

The council will not hear if the bid has been successful until March, but the proposal is supported by local agencies, faith and community groups.

The drop-in session will be an informal opportunity to view architects drawings and site plans, ask questions and discuss any issues or concerns with council officers.
