Make Yourself At Home With boroughofpoole.com

Visitors to Poole Central Library will be invited to make themselves at home and discover the range of services now available online at boroughofpoole.com.

A retro-style living room and a computer will greet residents visiting the library in the Dolphin Shopping Centre link will open in new window on November 8 and 9.

Visitors will be invited to see how they can sort out their council related queries from the comfort of their own home using boroughofpoole.com.

Council staff will be on hand between 10am and 4pm encouraging customers to take a five minute challenge to find council services and information online.

The event is part of the Government's 'Connect to your Council' link will open in new window campaign which aims to get people accessing local services via the internet, rather than using more traditional methods like the phone or visiting a council building.

The new look boroughofpoole.com was launched in August and is designed to make it easier for people to do business with the council.

Chris Owens, Head of Customer Services and Communications, Borough of Poole, said: "Following its recent relaunch, boroughofpoole.com is now even easier to use and is packed with useful information and 'self-service' functions. With up to 100,000 unique visitors every month, the website is already proving very popular both locally and nationally.

"Poole has one of the highest percentages of internet use in the country and we're keen to encourage even more of our residents to give it a go and to find out more about what our website can do for them."

Visitors to boroughofpoole.com can access a range of services, from getting information on the latest roadworks or paying their Council Tax to reporting missed bin collections, graffiti or broken streetlights. They can also check for adult learning courses in their area and renew library books link will open in new window online.
