Tree Party In The Park

Nature lovers of all ages are invited to a free ‘Tree Party’ in Poole on Saturday November 10.

The ‘Tree Party’, organised by Poole Libraries, will give residents a chance to learn more about the variety of trees in Poole.

The party starts at Poole Central Library, in the Dolphin Shopping Centre link will open in new window, at 10am, before heading to Poole Park for a timber trail to look at some of the trees in the park and a meet-a-tree exercise. An Officer from Dorset Wildlife Trust link will open in new window will be on the trail to answer any questions. If the weather is bad there will be an indoor ‘virtual’ tour in place of the timber trail.

After the trail, the party heads back to the library for refreshments, games, stories and other activities around the theme of all things green. There will also be a chance for people to find out about Dorset Wildlife Trust’s ‘Dorset Greenwood Tree Project’ link will open in new window, which celebrates Dorset’s veteran trees.

Cllr Peter Adams, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “We are really lucky in Poole to have so many beautiful open spaces. We hope that the Tree Party will be fun way for people to learn and explore the fantastic natural environment that surrounds us.”

The party is part of the BBC’s Breathing Places campaign link will open in new window to raise awareness of the environment, nature and wildlife.
