Green waste can also be taken to Borough of Poole’s Household Waste Recycling Centre at Nuffield Road.
Shaun Robson, Head of Environmental and Consumer Protection Services, said: "Borough of Poole is continually trying to raise awareness of the dangers of dealing with unknown tradespeople or companies. At this time of year gardening work is a particular popular trade. If you require work to be done by a professional we would advise that you speak to friends and family to get recommendations of traders. If residents do the work themselves, hopefully the options we have made available through our garden waste recycling scheme offer residents a convenient method of garden waste disposal without the need for outside help.”
The garden waste recycling scheme helps Poole reduce the amount of biodegradable waste sent to landfill.
Residents wanting to deter calls from uninvited tradespeople are advised to place a card or sticker on their front door or window stating ‘we not buy from doorstep sellers’. These are available to Poole residents from Environmental and Consumer Protection Services on 01202 261700.
