Licensing Policy Consultation

When the Licensing Act 2003 was introduced the Act required that each Local Authority publish a Statement of Licensing Policy that sets out its general approach to the making of licensing decisions and how it intends to meet the licensing objectives as set out in the Act.

The Statement of Licensing Policy is now due for review and the Council wishes to consult as widely as possible with the trade and public to ascertain their views on the changes made to the Policy.

If you wish to view the draft reviewed Statement of Licensing Policy together with a questionnaire that prompts comments on aspect of the policy both documents can be found at the following link on the consultation section of this website link will open in new window. You will also be able to add any additional comments on any other aspect of the policy.

You can also request copies of the documents to be sent to you by calling 01202 261700. Responses can also be made by email, details are on the questionnaire link will open in new window. We will not be able to respond individually to all comments received but please be assured that all returns received by the deadline will be considered.

The time available for consultation is constrained by the statute and to ensure that your comments are considered all responses must be returned by 29th October 2007.

We very much hope that you will be able to find the time to consider the draft policy and complete the questionnaire. Many thanks in advance to those who take the time and trouble to respond.
