23 May 07Seven Days Of Activities To Launch Refurbished Library
Borough of Poole is holding a series of free, fun activities between 26 May -2 June to launch the refurbished Central Library and the new quick-read best-seller collection called ‘7 Days’.
Visitors will be able to see the new library arrangement, self service terminals and displays of new books and best-sellers as well as joining in with a host of activities for all the family,
these include;
- Saturday 26 May - Children can drop in any time during the day to take part in the ‘Secret 7 Clues’ treasure hunt. Completed entries will be entered into a prize draw.
- Wednesday 30 May, 10.00am to 12.00 noon - The ‘7 Seas’ family craft event with the Dorset Scrapstore
. - Thursday 31 May, from 10.30am - Chocolate and tales of wickedness - A story-time session for adults on the theme of the seven deadly sins!
- Saturday 2 June, 10am to 11.30am - ‘Harry Potter 7th Book Fun Day’ including a quiz, sorting into houses, transfiguration craft session and divination to foretell the story of the Deathly Hallows.
Adults can test their knowledge of the 1970s in Friday’s picture quiz or vote for their favourite books in the ‘Magnificent 7’ event on Tuesday.
Vivienne Grier, Central Library Operations Manager, Borough of Poole said: “The refurbishment work that has been done at Poole Central Library is designed to make the experience of visiting the library even more enjoyable. We want to welcome both regular library users and new customers to come and see the improvements for themselves and enjoy the half term fun that is on offer.”
The ‘7 Days’ collection offers multiple copies of the latest best-sellers available to borrow and return in a week.
