Getting Back In The Saddle

Borough of Poole is launching a cycling confidence course for people who want to get back in the saddle this summer.

The ‘Pedal Again in Poole’ course at Upton Country Park is ideal for people who want to start cycling again after time out of the saddle.

The three-week course will offer basic tuition on quiet, traffic-free routes supported by a qualified instructor and an opportunity to enjoy a sociable bike ride through the beautiful areas of Poole for couple of hours.

Cllr Mike White, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transportation, Borough of Poole, said: "Cycling is a great way to keep fit and this course will introduce you to hidden gems you may not have seen on some of the most attractive cycleways in Poole".

The course will be held every Monday for three weeks from July 16 at 10am and is suitable for people of all ages, but under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. It is not suitable for children who have not ridden a bike before.

The cost of the three-week course is £3 or £5 if bike and equipment is hired. Parking, refreshments and toilets are available at Upton House.
