 Do you have an interest in Dorset’s great outdoors? Dorset’s local access forum Needs independent members \n

If you have a strong interest in open air access and recreation in Dorset, this could be your opportunity to make a real contribution.

Bournemouth Borough Council, Dorset County Council, and the Borough of Poole, as Highway Authorities, are responsible for setting up the Dorset Local Access Forum.

The Forum advises the three Councils and other bodies on the improvement of public access to land in their area for the purposes of open air recreation and enjoyment.  This includes the new right of access and rights of way improvement plans being introduced under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.

We now have vacancies for six members, representing each of the following categories:-

·         users of rights of way and new open access land;

·         owners and occupiers of new access land or land containing rights of way;

·         those having an interest in open air recreation, tourism or related business.

The Forum is likely to meet at least twice a year, and certain expenses and  allowances can be claimed.

If you have the time, experience and enthusiasm to make a valuable and constructive contribution to the work of the Forum, an application form and information pack are available from:-
