Poole’s Safe Together Partnership has recently launched a new mobile youth work unit that aims to engage teenagers in positive activities in parts of the borough where little or no other youth provision exists.

The vehicle is equipped with a DVD player, computer and flat screen TV and a range of interactive DVD’s together with a variety of sports equipment for use on lighter evenings. It also offers young people somewhere comfortable to sit, possibly with a hot drink and discuss issues of concern to them with youth workers.
Cllr Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children’s and Young People’s Services, Borough of Poole, said: “ I’m delighted to see this new provision made available to the Youth Service through an excellent example of partnership working between the Borough of Poole and Dorset Police. I’m sure it will be a real asset to young people in all parts of the town and involve even more young people in safe activities."
The Mobile Youth Work Project is currently engaged on a promotional tour of schools in Poole and is working in different parts of the town on four evenings each week.
