Fireworks to light up Poole Quay on November 5th

Poole Tourism are to stage an impressive firework display on Poole Quay on Friday November 5th to celebrate the return of the hugely popular Summer Thursday evening events next year to the Quay. This special display will start at 8.00pm and be fired from a barge on the water. The evening will also feature live music from 'Djambo' at the Fish Shambles, and street entertainers on the Quayside from 6.00pm up until the display.

Fireworks will also be seen again over the Quay next Summer on Thursdays in the months of  July and September.  A proposal by Poole Tourism was sent to all of the Quay businesses during September outlining potential promotional opportunities for 2005, including the return of the Thursday night events, and seeking financial support to make it all happen. Sufficient funding has now been received from the Quay businesses to enable the event to go ahead. The event will be branded as Summer Breeze on the Quay, and will focus on the successful mix of live music, street entertainment and family activities.

Bruce Grant-Braham, Chairman of Poole Tourism Panel, said ' we are delighted to be able to put this special firework display on bonfire night. Our events are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike, and this display will be a great way to announce that we have managed to secure the necessary funding to bring this hugely successful event back to the Quay next year'.
