16 Apr 042 New Lollipop Crossings in Poole
From the start of the Summer Term there will be 2 new school crossing patrol points in Poole. One crossing will be in Fernside Road at the junction of Pound Lane and the other in Richmond Road and Courthill Road.
The Lollipops will be crossing all pedestrians but particularly children from Longfleet Combined School and Courthill First School.
Cllr Ron Parker, Cabinet Portfolio holder for Transportation, said: "It is good news that these new patrols will help to make the journey to school safer for the children and parents that walk to school."
Sally Funnell, Cycling and Walking Officer, Transportation Services, Borough of Poole, said: "The existing lollipops in Poole cross about 5,000 children in a day. It is hoped that these new lollipops will encourage more children and parents to walk to school. This will help to cut down on congestion and pollution near schools and provide valuable daily exercise."
