Toby McConnell, e-Communications Manager at Borough of Poole said: “The increase in the take-up of services on boroughofpoole.com is fantastic news as it appears that the facilities and information on the site is attracting both Poole residents and visitors from outside the Borough. Free internet access via Poole’s libraries and the recent national marketing campaign ‘Connect to your council’ can only have helped with encouraging visitor numbers.”

With over 2100 pages of information boroughofpoole.com just keeps on growing. Visitors can access almost 1000 services on the website making it easier than ever for people to do business with the Council. Current features include:

  • Viewing planning application and decisions made about them
  • Searching the library catalogue to renew and reserve books, DVDs and CDs
  • Downloading over 200 different application forms
  • Reporting issues from street lamp faults to missed bin collections
  • Accessing council news articles and press releases

The news of the website’s success comes as the Council’s new ‘A-Z Guide of Services’ hits Poole residents’ door mats this week along with the latest edition of Poole News. The A-Z has been designed to work in tandem with the website as most listings in the publication have the associated web and e-mail address included, providing readers with a number of ways to contact the Council.

The big stories in the new edition of Poole News includes keeping safe in the sun, healthy eating in schools and new ways to keep Poole clean green and safe.
