Meridian TV's Martin Dowse grills Poole's leader in Exclusive Poole News Interview

Seven months after the local elections, Cllr Brian Leverett, Leader of the Council gives an exclusive interview to Martin Dowse for Poole News.

The latest edition of Poole News is out now, get your copy for more information on the exclusive interview with Councillor Brian Leverett. Also there is everything you need to know for Christmas and reports from Pooles sporting success!

Featured in this autumn’s edition of the Council’s newspaper delivered to Poole households next week, the interview gives a flavour of what residents can expect over the next few years.

Martin’s candid interview with Brian examines what has been achieved so far and focuses on the big issues facing the Council such as long-term priorities and the effects of the Council’s budget on Council Tax.

Cllr Brian Leverett, Leader of the Council, said: "Poole News is one direct way we have of helping to inform and keep residents up to date on what the Council is doing. We have a responsibility to be open and accountable which is particularly important when we are presented with difficult choices, especially with the budget and we must explain the issues facing the town. "

Residents of Poole were able to meet their cabinet and get a copy of Poole News on Saturday 22 November in the Dolphin Shopping Centre where Councillors were on hand to answer any queries. 

For the first time, Poole News readers with access to Media Player will also be able be able to hear the interview via the Council’s website boroughofpoole.com.

Readers may notice the new smaller style Poole News. The changes will save up to £10,000 per year with each copy costing 11p rather than 16p to produce. However by using a clear design, readers will still get as much information as before – included in this edition:
