Rossmore Leisure Centre Rejuvenation Begins

Work on refurbishing the health and fitness facilities at Rossmore Leisure Centre will begin on Wednesday 1 November with a new look gym launched to the public on 25/26 November 2006.

The makeover is part of the long term plans to refresh Rossmore Leisure Centre, Ashdown Leisure Centre and Dolphin Swimming Pool as a result of the new management partnership between Sports and Leisure Management (SLM) and the Borough of Poole.

The work at Rossmore will include a complete re-fit of the gym with brand new high quality equipment, new flooring and décor and improved air conditioning.  The reception area and common internal walkways will have new flooring and the current snack bar will be refreshed and modernised.

Other facilities available at Rossmore such as the swimming pool, and the sports hall will not be affected.

During the refurbishments current users of the Rossmore gym facilities are welcome to use one of SLM’s sister sites: Ashdown Leisure Centre, Adastral Road, Canford Heath, Poole (01202 604224) or The Dolphin Swimming Pool, Kingland Road, Poole (01202 677217).  Please note these sites have health and fitness facilities on the first floor and do not have full disabled access

Councillor Don Collier, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure said: “This is the first of a number of exciting refurbishment initiatives that SLM have planned for the three leisure centre over the coming months. It is very exciting to see the plans coming to fruition and we look forward to providing new and improved health and fitness facilities for the people of Poole”.
