29 Aug 06Alderney West Get Together
From Wednesday 30 August to Friday 1 September, council residents from Alderney West will be having a fun-filled and informative 'Get Together', courtesy of Poole Housing Partnership
.
The 'Get Together' involves a wide range of activities for the whole community that will take place each day between 10am and 4:30pm.
Over the three days, residents will have the opportunity to meet their Housing Officer and get advice from other PHP
staff, and find out more about housing benefit and tenancy support.
PHP's
repairs contractor, Signpost Services, will be on hand for a drop-in session, where residents can report repairs that need doing direct to them.
On the Friday morning, between 10am and 12pm, local children will take part in a litter pick to clean up the area. Spot prizes will be given to children taking part and there will be a top prize of a family night at UCI, Tower Park for whoever collects the most litter.
In the afternoon it's Friday Fun, with a bouncy castle, face painting, football and the chance for kids to try on a real police uniform.
Senior Housing Officer for PHP
, Rosie Hall, says, "We wanted to do something fun to engage the local community and bring our services out of the office and onto the estate, where it's needed. Together with our partners at the Borough of Poole's Leisure Services, Signpost Services
and Dorset Police
, we're hoping the day will make our services more accessible to the residents of Alderney West."
