Coy Pond Road Closure

Following a series of lengthy discussions the Borough of Poole has decided Coy Pond Road will close to through traffic from early May.

The closure will protect users of the scenic Coy Pond area and also make a safer link for users of the Bourne Valley Greenway. \n

Steve Dean, Principal Engineer, Transportation Services, Borough of Poole, said: "The decision to close the road was not an easy one and the Council discussed the issue at three separate committee meetings to be sure that all the objections had been thoroughly considered. Even so, the committee felt that it was important to be sure that the scheme has been beneficial, so they will monitor the effects of the closure and will review the scheme again after six months.\n

The road is due to be closed on 3 May and warning signs will be put up a week or so beforehand.
