Alderney By-Election Results

Lindsay Wilson, The new Councillor for Alderney following the by-election on 18 March 2004

A new Councillor was elected in Poole's Alderney by-election yesterday when Lindsay Wilson was voted in with a comfortable margin for the Liberal Democrats.

The election followed the resignation of Cllr Bob Dugdale (Lib Dem) due to ill-health. Over 30% of voters turned out to vote in the by-election.

The result means that the seats for Poole Council are 16 Lib Dem and 26 Conservative.

The Borough of Poole is made up of 42 Councillors from 16 wards across the Borough.

Three Councillors represent Alderney ward. The Council remains in Conservative control.
