Poole Children's Information Service Fun Day

The Borough of Poole’s Children’s Information Service is staging the Poole Information Event & Fun Day at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, on Saturday 11 February 2006.

The event has been organised to raise awareness of the range of services and support available for parents, carers, information workers and professionals in the Poole area. Supported by Connexions, Poole Primary Care Trust and National Children’s Home, it will offer fantastic opportunities to find out about local services, information centres, children’s activities and the Poole Family Support Directory.

Cllr Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, Borough of Poole, said: “We are very excited about the Information Event & Fun Day. It will be a great focal point for Borough residents to discover all our local information services and support groups, from finding out about local childminding provision to young people’s advice, education/parenting guidance and home energy saving.”

To keep the children entertained throughout the day, there will be a bouncy castle and surf simulator, as well as individual activities at many of the exhibitors’ stands, including colouring, badge making, games, an assault course and giant animal puzzles.

Carol Jarvis, Lead Officer for Poole Early Years and Childcare, Borough of Poole, said:With over 40 exhibitors and service providers on display, there really will be a wealth of knowledge and expertise on offer. So if you’re looking for local information, or want access to a full range of services and want to find out about activities for parents, carers, families and children, Poole Information  Event & Fun Day is the place to be.“

The event takes place on Saturday 11th February at the Lighthouse from 10am to 2pm. Admission is free. For further information, log onto www.boroughofpoole.com or call 01202 261999.
