Poole Market Entertainment A Huge Success

The official launch of Poole's new weekly Street Market on Thursday 5th August was a huge success with hundreds of people attending to 'taste, test and toast' the historic occasion of the reinstatement of the market town status to Poole.  Professional look-alikes 'The Trotters, Del Boy and Uncle Albert,' proved a huge hit with shoppers, and visitors to the Street Market on Thursday 12th August will be able to watch the second event in the town's first-ever street entertainment programme. 

 

From 11.45am, steel pan soloist, Wayne Ricardo Gibson, will entertain shoppers by bringing authentic carnival sounds of the Caribbean to the High Street.  Families will also have the opportunity to watch and participate in interactive pantomime shows featuring Okey Dokey the dragon taking take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

 

Poole Town Centre link will open in new windowmanager, Helen Crawford, says; "It was great to see so many families visiting the High Street to celebrate the return of the weekly market.  It's proving to be a popular feature of the town.  We hope shoppers enjoy our second instalment of street entertainment." 

 

More than 45 traders will be attending the Street Market on Thursday 12th August between 8.30am and 5pm, with produce from all over the UK will be on sale including outdoor and home wares, fruit and vegetables, and jewellery and beauty products.

 

The 'Street Market' entertainment programme includes a variety of live music and street performers and will take place every Thursday until 2nd September.
