Mr Hudson Sells Out The Central Library

A showcase concert at Poole Central Library with two of the most hotly-tipped new acts of 2007 has proved a big hit with music lovers.

Tickets have sold out for the one-off concert, featuring Mr Hudson And The Library link will open in new window, at the Central Library, in the Dolphin Shopping Centre, on Saturday February 3.

Mr Hudson has been widely-touted for stardom in 2007 and already appeared on the BBC television show ‘Later with Jools Holland’.  The band has also played live on Radio 2 and had a ‘Single of the Week’ on Radio 1.

The concert is part of a nationwide tour and project to encourage young adults to use local libraries.

The Central Library has previously staged live classical music, but never a pop concert.

Tickets for the concert were limited to a maximum of 120 on the grounds of health and safety.

John Lane, Library Services Manager, Borough of Poole, said: “The concert is already sold out and we are having to turn people away. To stage a pop concert with such a hotly-tipped act is a real coup for the library. ”

Mr Hudson will be supported by Adele, who was recently chosen by the Observer Music Magazine as one of the new stars of 2007.
