Friends of Poole Park - Poole Park Fest 05

Following on from the success of last year’s Fest 04, the Friends of Poole Park are holding their 'Poole Park Fest 05' on Sunday 28 and Bank Holiday Monday 29 August 2005. Join in for two days of action packed fun for all the family from 11am until 7pm (5pm Monday).

This year the event is sponsored by K.B Pools, suppliers of Jacuzzi & Spa Baths in conjunction with 2CR FM. Graham Mack & Richie will act as Master of Ceremonies for most of the two days.

The Poole Park Fest 05 has a sport, leisure and music theme to help raise public awareness of Poole Park and the many activities available - both as a fun spectacle and for sports and leisure clubs to participate, with many exciting and unusual events taking place.

Many of the sports and leisure activities will be on a free trial basis and some coaching will be available over a wide range of topics from aerobics, circus skills, rowing, fitness training, martial arts, fitness testing, etc.

There will be two days of free live music, sponsored by Mr Kyps, Poole's Premier Live Music Venue, who has secured MUNGO JERRY - back by popular demand - as one of their headline bands on the main stage in the west field. Adjacent to the Cygnet Café will be a second stage with various dance workshops, from Salsa Explosion to The Thing - Latino Modern Jive. There will also be Chinese cookery displays, plenty of art/craft workshops, model boats and a climbing wall.

Entry is by voluntary donation, with programmes available to buy.

Annual Membership of the Friends of Poole Park is only £5. Please join as a volunteer and help make this event a big success, by contacting Terry Smith. For membership details collect a form on the Friends of Poole Park Website  or a leaflet from the Civic Centre, Public Libraries or the Cygnet Café in Poole Park.
