Wildlife experts from Dorset Wildlife Trust
and British Trust for Ornithology
will be on hand to help people create one of two hundred safe nest boxes which are available and answer any questions about local bird life.
Cllr Don Collier, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: "Borough of Poole fully supports this event. It is an excellent opportunity for people to experience wildlife in their own back garden and learn how they can help bird life flourish in Poole."
"Poole Park is a wonderful location for this event as it attracts many beautiful birds throughout the year. It is also a great place to do some bird watching."
Boxes made on the day will be part of the British Trust for Ornithology's survey into nesting habits across the UK.
The Dorset Wildlife Trust, British Trust for Ornithology and other wildlife groups will be holding exhibitions and walks during the morning.
People interested in attending the event need to reserve their nest box in advance by calling 08000 560190 or visiting www.bbc.co.uk/dorset
.
The event will take place at the Copse Close end of Poole Park between 10am and 1pm. Borough of Poole park rangers will be on hand to assist in providing access.
