Turn Your Fingers Green with PHP

On 15 August, Poole Housing Partnership (PHP), in conjunction with Stewarts Garden Centre , begins the first session of a special FREE Gardening Skills Course for council residents who want to be more green-fingered.

Fourteen residents, from a wide age group, have already signed up to improve their gardening skills. 

The PHP Gardening Scheme course dates are 15, 22 and 29 August.  Each session lasts for approximately two hours.  The course includes free return transport from PHP’s headquarters in Poole town centre.

The full course covers Herbs & Vegetables, Wild Life & Neighbour Friendly Gardens and Container Growing.

Stewarts have tailored the course to the requirements provided by the residents following consultation.  PHP’s Tenancy Support Officer, Viv Callender, helped to organize the scheme, she says, “We are delighted that we able to offer this course to our residents, who have expressed a great interest in developing their gardening skills.  We’d like to thank Stewarts for providing the course free of charge; without them this would not be possible.”
