Happy 2nd Birthday To Blue Bin Scheme

The Borough of Poole is celebrating the two year birthday of its successful Blue Bin Scheme which is now consistently meeting the Government's statutory targets month on month.

Since the Scheme's inception in September 2004 the recycling rate in the Borough has increased dramatically from 18% to in excess of 30%. This means that approximately a third of all household waste in Poole is now recycled which, in August alone, equated to a staggering 2,700 tonnes.

The recycling campaign has also been recently enhanced with the launch of a new green waste scheme which was introduced to 12,000 households this summer together with new garden waste collection sites around the Borough.

Due to the popularity of the garden waste collection sites further dates are now available.
