31 Mar 06Take Your Exercise In Poole Park
Despite the rain over twenty people enjoyed a free exercise class in Poole Park
earlier this week (Monday 27 March).
More classes, led by a qualified instructor, are planned for April. They are suitable for adults of all fitness levels and are designed to help people enjoy the natural environment.
This exercise initiative is one of many being developed by the Borough of Poole in partnership with local companies to encourage local people to be more physically active for health benefits.
Clive Smith, Head of Leisure Services, Borough of Poole, said: "Encouraging people to get out and take regular exercise not only supports the Council's Physical Activity and Recreation Strategy but also helps people to enjoy an active lifestyle."
The project will launch on April 10 and classes will take place on Mondays from 1pm-1.45pm and on Wednesdays from 5.30pm-6.30pm.
The classes are being organised by the Green Gym Company and are supported by the Friends of Poole Park
. To find out more and to take part contact Jo Rainsley on 0780 8470031.
