Poole Celebrates Achievements of Young People

Young people who are Looked After by the Borough of Poole have been awarded for their achievements in a ceremony hosted by the Children and Families, Social Services and Education Units.

At the ceremony held this week at the Harbour Heights Hotel, The Mayor of Poole, Cllr Les Burden presented 27 young people with their awards, which included a certificate, a personally inscribed shield and a voucher.

The event saw a short video playing clips of some of the young people talking about their achievements. These included successes in education, sports, social and community relationships, and helping to improving services for others.

The event finished with afternoon tea when visitors and guests were able to talk with the young people directly about their achievements and interests.

John Nash, Policy Director, Children’s Services, Borough of Poole, said: "It is fantastic for these children and young people have their achievements and successes publicly recognised. They have worked hard, shown commitment, enthusiasm and determination in what they do. They are a credit to the young people of Poole."
