12 Oct 06Be 'Wow'ed At The Study Gallery Of Modern Art
On Wednesday 18th October The Study Gallery Of Modern Art
will launch a brand new public activity programme called WOW - What's On Wednesdays.
Supported by the Borough of Poole and the Arts Council England
WOW days will offer a wide mix of activities and social opportunities at the Study Gallery
from 9.00am - 9.00pm for 40 Wednesday a year.
In celebration of the launch of the new programme the unique Europa String Choir will be playing at the Study Gallery
on Wednesday between 12.30 -1.30pm following which the composer Simon Speare will run an experimental workshop where people will interpret their own pictures through sounds.
The WOW activities on offer each week include drawing combined with yoga and meditation exercises, arty games for the under fives with coffee for parents, music, writing and interpreting art sessions. Open studio events will encourage making art and there will also be introductory sessions to digital photography and understanding art.
People are also welcome to come and socialise or play games such as backgammon, bridge, chess or family board games, watch an art film, read a book or the newspapers, or even just sit and chat.
Each week a Wow Healthy Lunch will be on offer between 12.30 -1.30 together with a lunchtime event such as music, a film or a talk. The WOW Café will open from 10.00 to 5.00 with a wine bar from 5.30 - 8.30pm.
Access to Leisure cardholders can enjoy a 50% discount on all activities with the exception of lunch. Parking is limited.

It really is a great opportunity to experience art in a variety of exciting ways.”
