New agencies help recruitment in Poole

Two agencies are helping the Borough of Poole to recruit temporary staff as part of a new innovative contract.

As part of a recent Best Value Review, the Council is working in partnership with local independent recruitment companies Jobshop UK and Smart Group Recruitment Solutions to provide temporary placements.

Cllr Neil Sorton, Resources Portfolio Holder, said: "One of the benefits of working more closely with Jobshop UK and Smart Group Solutions UK will be to increase the pool of temps available to the Council particularly in specialist areas where temporary workers are in short supply. This new contract with local companies will help to ensure that we deliver high quality and value for money services for local people."

The contracts also mean lower Agency rates, introduction fees and avoidance of penalties where Agency temps are subsequently appointed by the Council. The new contract will support the existing Civic Temps Scheme, which provides administrative, clerical and secretarial placements.
