12 Nov 04Poole's Free Graffiti Removal Kits
As part of Poole's aim to build on and expand the Borough's successful Pride in Poole initiative, Environmental and Consumer Protection Services have available free Community Graffiti Removal Kits.
In partnership with Nomix enviro 30, these have been introduced to further equip Poole residents with the resources they need to make a real difference to their local environment and encourage community action.
The new resources are in addition to the litter picking kits and guides already provided amongst active community groups who since April this year have undertaken an impressive 70 community clean ups.
The kits produced by Nomix enviro are a ready packed assortment of implements required for all types of graffiti removal by hand. The selection of highly effective but environmentally friendly chemicals allow easy removal without the dangerous side effects of hazardous solvents.
Cllr Don Collier, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Borough of Poole, said: "It is not about
Poole residents take over responsibility for the problem. The Borough of Poole will continue to aggressively target resources at graffiti using the Environmental Response Unit. It is about people helping to look after their local environment in partnership with the Council. By targeting graffiti on private walls, shop frontages and other private property, it compliments the work the Council is already doing on public buildings and can make a huge difference to the overall appearance of an area."The Borough of Poole would like to hear from groups who are active in the local community and feel they could benefit from this resource.
