A and AS Level Results 2005

Poole pupils will be busy planning their future following the publication of AS and A level results across the country.

John Nash, Policy Director for Poole LEA, said: “These results demonstrate the culmination of the hard work students put in throughout their school life.  Most Poole students have achieved the grades necessary for the next step in their careers whether it is university, college, further training or employment.  The results of some individual students are outstanding and there are success stories in every school, reflecting the dedication of students and staff, supported by families and the LEA.  Congratulations to everyone who has worked hard to achieve these results.”

He added: “Exam success is very important to students, as results are often the passport to future educational, training or employment opportunities.   However they are just one measure of the students’ success as there is also great achievement evident in sport, school productions, musical concerts and the whole wealth of opportunities on offer in schools in Poole today.”

Councillor Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Learning, Borough of Poole, said:  “I send my wholehearted congratulations to all students in Poole receiving their A and AS level results today and hope everyone feels the effort they put into their examinations is reflected in their results. Students in Poole schools have previously been very successful in their exams and the Borough has been one of the higher performing areas of the country.  Students and teachers work extremely hard to achieve good results and their efforts are well worthwhile.”
