The highlights of Poole's Full Sail Ahead regeneration programme will be showcased during a visit by the Rt Hon Alun Michael MP, Minister of State for Industry and the Regions, on Monday 17 October.
The visit hosted by the Borough of Poole will include a tour of the Sea Survival Centre at the RNLI Lifeboat College in Poole and presentation on the regeneration of the town - the largest scheme of its kind currently in the South West - by the Council's Policy Director Bernie Topham.
A lunch held at the RNLI will be attended by the Minister plus invited guests including representatives from the Government Office for the South West, local politicians and business leaders.
Cllr Ron Parker, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Local Economy, Borough of Poole, said: "We are delighted to host this visit and look forward to showing the Minister of State for Industry and the Regions all the regeneration work that has been going on in Poole to revitalise the town. We are very proud of the benefits being delivered by the regeneration scheme including affordable housing, employment space and leisure facilities not to mention the ongoing work to deliver an iconic second harbour crossing."
