12 Jun 02Summer Arts Market for Poole - 'Arts in the Orchard'
Poole Town Centre will soon be buzzing with artistic flair as Poole Arts Council announce the establishment of a regular artists market every Wednesday throughout July & August 2002.
The markets will be held from 10.30am to 4pm in the area known as "Old Orchard" in the Lower High St, Poole and will feature local artists producing original artwork.
Liz Magee, a representative from Poole Arts Council, said: "Following the success of the Arts market in 2001 we are proud to be bringing a touch of Parisien class to Poole. The two markets we ran last year were a great success and provided a good opportunity to promote local artists. We are all extremely pleased that the Arts markets are secured in Poole again this year."
Jan Knox, Town Centre Manager, commented: "Local people were delighted at last year’s Arts markets which also proved very popular with tourists. There are a variety of markets in and around the Town Centre throughout the year which prove very popular and we are delighted that Poole Arts Council have decided to make this a regular event."
A new 'markets' brochure is available from the Town Centre Manager’s office which has full details of all the markets the town has to offer. Tel: (01202) 649433.
