22 Sep 05Launch of Joint Public Transport Ticket
Train and bus operators join forces on Friday 23 September to launch a new joint ticket for the Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch conurbation called "Plusbus". Visitors to the area travelling by train can now ask for a combined "Plusbus" ticket at their local rail station and enjoy unlimited travel for the day on most bus services.
The add-on ticket costs just £3 and is valid for bus travel from Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Branksome Stations. Passengers can use the ticket over a large area bounded by Upton in the West, Wimborne to the North and Highcliffe to the East. Even Bournemouth Airport is included. In a first for the area all major bus operators have signed up to the scheme.
