CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES

Local residents, businesses and organisations will be giving their views on controlled parking zones & residents parking at a special meeting on Friday 15 June.

The Borough of Poole's Environment & Prosperity Scrutiny Committee will be considering evidence from local people on controlled parking in the town at special day long Select Committee.

Similar to Westminster Select Committees, representatives from residents, business and organisations affected by controlled parking schemes will address the Select Committee in order to ensure as many views as possible are heard.

Particular areas for consideration include, parking restrictions around the Civic Centre, Commercial Road car park and the effects of introducing a scheme at Heckford Park.

Councillor Lou Knight, Chairman of the Environment & Prosperity Scrutiny Committee, said: "We have already received a good response from residents and businesses who want to give their views on the schemes. Whilst we are expecting a full day of evidence, anyone still wishing to give their views can write in with the details. Only by getting the views of everyone affected can we look at all the options and find long term solutions for the future parking and travel needs of the town."

Anyone wishing to give their views can write in to Steve Cattle, Democratic Services, Civic Centre, Poole, BH15 2RU by Monday 18 June. Members of the public are welcome to attend and listen to presentations taking place in the Committee Suite, Civic Centre, Poole from 9.30 am - 4.00pm.
